Hi All,

The eBusiness organization of my company is in the process of developing a plan to
review the benefits associated with the eBusiness implementation. They want to see
how their assumptions in the eBusiness balanced scorecard have played out against real
call displacement and admin cost opportunities.

They invite Internal Audit, particularly IS audit members, to help them prepare an
approach to develop these case studies on implementations to date, and then work with
them to evaluate the effectiness of the implementation.

The SVP eBusiness person saw this as a troika approach - an eBusiness resource, a
finance resource, and an audit resource partnering to assess benefits. He thought this
could be a development opportunity for audit.

I would like everyone's insights on the following

1. Should we accept the invitation? If we do, what should be our role? What approach
should we take? Should our participation impaire our independence?

2. Suggestions on resources to assist us in forming an approach on developing the case
studies on implementations, mentioned in the second paragraph.

I greatly appreciate for any inputs and suggestions you all may have.

Thank you

Chris
