Please excuse this mid month distribution!
When I first moved the AuditNet site to it's own domain I was able to maintain all the files on a shared server utilizing approximately 100 megabytes of disk space. The Web hosting service provider package I purchased was designed to accommodate up to 350 megabytes. My provider recently informed me that AuditNet was using over 500 megabytes! That is great news for you because it means that contributed files and audit resource material has far exceeded my original estimates. But it also means that I would have to upgrade my hosting plan and move the AuditNet site to a new server with greater storage capacity.
Over the next several weeks I will be migrating AuditNet to it's new server. As I migrate the site please have patience and understanding during the transition. I will try my best to mitigate the impact on users and provide you with uninterrupted service. Please let me know if links are not working or material that should be on the site is not available. Send your note to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
The additional storage space also means that I will be able to accommodate more contributions and expand services in the future. If you have resources to contribute then please send them so that I can share them others. I encourage the contribution of articles, audit programs, questionnaires, guides, checklists and other audit material in the pursuit of ensuring that other auditors do not have to "reinvent the wheel" or start from "square one".
Many users may not realize that AuditNet is maintained and operated by one person (me) on a part time basis. In the near future this may become my full time pursuit but for now I devote my time and energy to it when time is available. Therefore please be patient if things do not move as quickly as you would like. When requesting material or asking questions do not be offended when I ask you to contribute something in exchange for my time to research your question or locate a resource. This is my way of saying "there is no free lunch". In order to get something from AuditNet and me, be prepared to give something in return.
Also please realize that while AuditNet is a free service to you, there is a cost of providing this service. Please support our sponsor advertisers as they are the fuel that covers the operating costs of AuditNet.
In closing I would like to thank each and every one of you for supporting this network. AuditNet is what it is because of you. I always felt that the audit profession needed a "place" to share our thoughts and resources in a free and open environment. My 1993 vision of an "on-line information network for auditors" has blossomed into what you see with AuditNet!
Thanks for your support and encouragement in keeping this the "best place on the Internet for auditors!"
