# mount -o remount,del:/br1:prepend:/br1:mod:/br0=ro /u
will have the result,
/u = /br1(rw) + /br0(ro)
> /u = /ro0 + /rw + /ro1 + /ro2 --> /u = /ro0 + /ro1 + /ro2 + /rw
# mount -o remount,del:/rw:append:/rw /u
But in this case, no copyup will be done since the writable branch is at
the bottom.
