I am sorry for replying to my own email :)
In my previous example, the result of reordering branches was:

>   /mnt/empty=rw
>   /mnt/hda3=ro
>   /mnt/hda2=ro
>   /mnt/hda1=ro

This result is not correct.
It is not what I meant.
If hda3 branch (index 3) is 'moved' to index 1, the result would be:

   /mnt/empty=rw
   /mnt/hda3=ro
   /mnt/hda1=ro
   /mnt/hda2=ro


I am sorry for confusion.
