I guess it is an aufs problem which is specific to writable nfs branch. Will you tell me these things? - will you find out which systemcall returns the error "stale nfs handle" and "operation not permitted" by strace or something? Also the preceding operations for the target file or directory are needed too. - Or will you suggest me the simple reproducible procedure? - what is your nfs server, os and its version? - what is your nfs options on the server and client? using 'dirsync' option on the client may be helpful. but I am not sure.
