I have a setup where I am mounting a nfs root volume read only, then
layering a local disk read/write on top of the nfsroot. In an initrd, I
am then switch_root'ing to boot.

What I would like to do is to be able to update a file (say an `apt-get
install package` on debian) on the nfs root volume, and have it update
on my aufs volume. I guess my basic question is, is there any way, with
a setup like this, to refresh aufs' cache of "what is most recent"?
