As I typically make the aufs branches, I am responsible for where I put them 
and can keep a list of them as needed.

I have a system with aufs config br=0 (most familiar to me) and another one 
with config br=1 so your references were very accurate and helpful to me!

FYI I found the CVS aufs.shlib but I have never found it as /etc/default/aufs 
in any distribution I've created or reviewed. :(   Trying a command in a 
shell and then trying it a second time with the piping of output to the next 
command helped me understand the different processes of aufs branch 
enumeration better.
