I dont know if its at all possible, but I would like to see the option of being able to not compile extra unneeded NFS and other features too. I really liked the idea of aufs from cvs because you could pick what features you want by editing local.mk
As I understand it, you cant make it a "kernel menu option" because it requires some patches to the kernel depending on if you need NFS etc, so maybe you can release 2 versions: One a lean version of aufs with only the basic features, and the other to suit the NFS crew?
