I've built the latest aufs 20090126 - will try that out instead of the old one. I'll use -n switch rather than -i . For new mounts, Does mount.aufs only adds entry to /etc/mtab - it does only that and nothing else ? If that is the case, I can safely call mount with -i . Meanwhile I have a query regarding the installation of utils, in the README.aufs1 nothing is mentioned about aufind.sh script that gets built by the make command.
