I would suggest to follow the kernel maintainers. So if they support 2.6.27, 
keep support for it, at
least as long, as it does not become too hard. For Gentoo, at least the 
hardened project is still
using 2.6.32 as their stable kernel, so i would like to see support for 2.6.32 
and above stays
there. For other kernels (<2.6.27, 2.6.28-2.6.31), i see no problem with 
dropping support for them.
