Hi, Sorry my late reply. Here is a patch to confirm ext3's behaviour for linux-2.6.36.1. - apply this patch and aufs2.1-36. - enable MagicSysRq and CONFIG_AUFS_MAGIC_SYSRQ. - build and reboot. - run my previous simple script which runs dd, mv and remount. It should fail with EBUSY and produce some debug messages. - run your rsync script. It should also produce some debug messages. - just after your rsync script, press Magic SysRq + A which will produce some aufs specific debug messages. The priority of these messages are kern.info and kern.debug. You may need to customize your /etc/syslog.conf (or something) to receive debug messages. And show me these messages please. This debug patch mainly aims to the /var/log/xxx.log, and there is a simple test "name->name[name->len - 1] == 'g'" in the patch, which means "the filename ends with 'g' or not." If you don't like this test and want to see all files, then comment out this test. J. R. Okajima
