First, the aufs version you are using, 2-standalone.tree-32-20100125 is too old and not maintained. I'd strongly suggest you to get latest version. Second, rootfs is supported if you enable CONFIG_AUFS_BR_RAMFS. But I don't remember such old version has the configuration. And you should read the help text in the config which describes about switch_root or something. J. R.
