It may be due to the aufs XINO file. You can check the size of XINO files via /debug/fs/aufs/si_*/. If you don't want to put the XINO files on your tmpfs, then you can specify the aufs mount option xino=. And I'd suggest you read the aufs manual to know what the XINO file is. J. R.
