Mr. Junjiro R. Okajima, you are right. I have forgotten this totally. Sure, I should give mobile computer user a hint that a commit on ext3 or ext4 dosen't put the machines in a low power consumption state if they use the GNOME Desktop environment. I only use a desktop machine and the reduction of power consumption seems to be only marginal. Sure, reducing of power consumption is always a good idea, but I was more concerned about a data loss from a bad chroot environment design.
Maybe I should give the developer of the pm-utils a hint, but I don't want trigger another nearly endless discussion. But I will keep an eye on it. Thanks.
