capget(2)?
As far as I know, capget(2) is for capabilities of a process which is
unrelated to filesystem.
I am afraid your getcap(8) failed getxattr(2) instead of capget(2).

aufs doesn't support XATTR currently.
It is on my TODO list, but I don't know when I have time work on it.
