Does it mean that your RO lower branch has /var/spool/squid/swap.state.new? Is it really necessary, or was it put into the lower branch by accident? Anyway it may not be a big problem... > But it seems the problem is actually on the /var/spool file (or=20 > directory, but that's a file too in the unix world), because when I do : > touch /var/spool/foo > I also get IO error. > But I only get it if I have tried to start squid before. If I boot my=20 > system without starting squid, I can do all I want with all the files in=20 > /var/spool. But then, if I start squid, I get this error, and this=20 > screws up the entire /var/spool folder it seems. Hmm, does squid sets some status to the dir? But it doesn't explain the problem I am afraid... > Do you need anything else from me in case you want to try to reproduce=20 > the problem ? If you can, please apply this patch and reproduce the problem. The patch doesn't fix anything but prints some debug info. Please send me back the debug log. J. R. Okajima
