This behaviour is not POSIX (or SUSvX) compliant. It is a feature of
aufs and any other stackable filesystems.
It may be good to tell the samba developer.

If you really want to change the behaviour, you need to modify the
source files of samba, and support the EXDEV error from rename(2)
systemcall, I am afraid.
