When compiling a kernel with BLK_DEV_LOOP=m and AUFS_FS=y, I see at bootup: aufs au_loopback_init:136:swapper/0[1]: loop_backing_file() is not defined (as the kernel can't automatically load the loop module, because the root filesystem is not yet mounted at this point). So AUFS_BDEV_LOOP needs to be disabled in this case - That's basically what the patch does.
