Hello Peter, Peter Kork: > something appears to be wrong when using an NTFS filesystem as an aufs > branch. I have been able to narrow it down to this test case:
There is something I need to make sure. Are you using fuse-based NTFS or in-kernel (native) NTFS? Where can I get the source files of it? Honestly speaking, I don't have tried CONFIG_NTFS_RW=y for a long time. Is it reliably working now? For example, "git clone" issues link(2) systemcall. Does your NTFS support it? While the option "acl" may be related, I need to make sure which version of NTFS are you using. > I'm using Linux Mint 16 (an Ubuntu derivative), which comes with kernel > 3.11.0-12-generic and aufs 3.x-rcN-20130902. Can anyone reproduce this? Your version, aufs 3.x-rcN-20130902 is not for linux-3.11 kernel. But I don't think it a big problem because the oldest aufs3.11 was released on 20130923 which is close to your version. Anyway I'd suggest you to make sure that your distributor does NOT make any changes to aufs, otherwise I cannot support your version. J. R.
