     Totally I don't understand what you wrote.
     Let's begin with the man-page of rename(2).

   If I got what you want... you're using AUFS as _fak_ RAID...
   Without the risks of... which RAID setup are talking about?
   Sure FAKE ATA RAID has a high risk of losing data...
   But you should be using SOFTWARE RAID instead!
   Anybody who don't want those said risks and do not have
   some perfs. requirement which require dedicated HardWare
   controllers... goes to SOFTWARE RAID.
