It might be good for you to ask ubuntu to release linux-image-extra
pkg for your architecture. But they may suggest you to try overlayfs
instead of aufs.
I don't know aufs-util for aufs3 will work on aufs4. At least some new
features won't work definitely.

If you have the cross compiler for your arch and the kernel source
files, then it won't be difficult to build aufs module by yourself.
