I'm running ubuntu 20.04 and I can't find what's missing to get the
mount command, or /proc/mounts to reflect the current branches in an
aufs mount.

my mount output looks like this:

none on /u type aufs (rw,relatime,si=26e3e69d98c1cafe,dio,create=mfs,sum)


I'm dynamically adding and removing folders from this mount point and
I'd really like to be able to see what's currently in the branch
listing.

The only thing I could find in the mailing list was a decade old and
had no resolution.
