This looks very good. One thing that I am not clear on is how well mapping
the '!' in a reaction to a 'modifiers' node will work in practice, since
it's easy to forget to check for that.
How about introducing four additional status values for the negated
reaction, i.e. in addition to 'success', 'notfound', 'unavail' and
'tryagain' have 'failure', 'found', 'avail' and '???' (no idea what
'!tryagain' does)
To do that, you'd need to use something like Build.xchg for each of the
status values and consider '! SUCCESS' as one token.
