I'd be for a rewrite of squid.aug to support this kind of syntax.
As I noted just 2 months ago in 7b17c50671b18a45caacabd71f7ce44d8fe158a7,
the squid.aug lens is currently inconsistent, in that parameters are not
always parsed the same way. I think breaking compatibility is worth the
gain in this case.
