When I tried Mandrake 8.2, rpm had a bad dependence management, deb was much better, then when I tried Fedora Core 3 I had many problems with yum (mainly slowness). I didn't tried an rpm-based distro since Fedora Core 3 so I don't know how rpm and its tools work nowadays. Instead I never had any problems with debian and its packaging system. Pacman is the best and faster packaging system I ever tried. Emerge (Gentoo) is a good packaging system, but its binaries support it's not very good and it's getting slower and slower, in fact I was using paludis (an alternative package manager for Gentoo) in my last year of Gentoo Developer. > - What is the advantage of a developer being confident? Sorry. I didn't mean to sound arrogant. I want to collaborate to ArchLinux, because I love that distro and the community around it and I think I could help and surely I'll learn something new. Thanks for your time and this wonderful opportunity. -- Timothy Redaelli drizztbsd on irc.freenode.net
