I notice the same thing about AlienArena - that the project was dead - before this thread started, but I just notice that the latest version, 7.53, is dated December 2011 in http://icculus.org/alienarena/ . Then I found what seems to be the current site: http://red.planetarena.org/... So, I guess it is not dead. Anyway, that package was really obsolete.
