[aur-general] Git version

My PKGBUILD is available at 
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/xf/xfreq-2.0-git/PKGBUILD
where source code comes from git 
Whenever I update a piece of code,  I would like the version be reflected in 
pkgver also, so AUR tools like yaourt can inform the user. Any suggestion ?
