I agree that another maintainer with years long relations to Arch would be a
great addition.

It's a shame that your judgement has been ignored in this case ...

... and given that the sponsors haven't confirmed their sponsorship yet, 3 days
after the initial message, I wonder what the motivation was to sponsor Martin
without any further improvements. Giancarlo, Thomas could you elaborate on this 
please?
