Request #10217 has been rejected by Eschwartz [1]: Not a reason to delete packages. AFAICT this should still work as well as it ever did, since upstream "abandoned" it due to grive being unmaintained... but grive has since moved to a new maintainer and undergoes current development, and works fine.
