Request #27358 has been rejected by alerque [1]:

If something isn't working the first thing to do is comment with your
issue. Also for VCS packages that have had build system changes –and
in the event you know what that change is— it *might* be fair to file
an out-of-date flag with a comment explaining how the build system has
been obsoleted with perhaps a link to the upstream change. If you
don't know whether your error is related to a build system change then
just a comment with your error would be better.

Only if that gets no response from the maintainer far a while would an
orphan request make sense so that somebody else can take over. Right
now I don't see that the first step of alerting the existing
maintainer to an issue has been done.
