Request #27667 has been rejected by alerque [1]: What suggests it is abandoned? VCS packages don't need updating frequently unless there are changes to the *way* the upstream project is built. The packaging automatically builds the latest version at the time you build it. I don't see any evidence in comments that there are outstanding issues to be fixed with the build. If you know of a build problem comment, but deletion doesn't seem to be called for.
