Request #27802 has been rejected by alerque [1]:

There is no reason to *delete* VCS packages just because upstream
doesn't recommend them for everyday use or even make any garantees
about ever commit even compiling. Nobody is forced to use VCS packages
at any given point and they are free to use stable packages too. But
VCS packages do have their place and there are times when they are
useful. Since they don't need constant updating anyway they can be
left around to be handy when that time comes that some unreleased fix
saves the day or a user wants to play around with some prototype
feature.
