brave [1] filed a deletion request for brave-origin-bin [2]: Our request for deletion has been rejected with "Invalid reason", with no further comments.
We gave the same reason when requesting the deletion of brave-origin- nightly-bin when the same thing happened and it was granted without issue. The author of brave-origin-bin says themselves "I agree with deletion" (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/brave-origin-bin#comment-1073895). Brave Origin is not officially released yet - it goes live tomorrow. The binaries became available on GitHub only a few hours ago, so there should be no relevant impact from deleting the package as it is now. We want to provide official packages maintained by us, the authors of the software being packaged. This is in the best interest of AUR users and consistent with all the other Brave Browser and Brave Origin packages present in AUR right now. Furthermore, once all 6 packages are published, we intend to unify them, as there are differences (functional and non-functional) that shouldn't be there. We won't be able to do that if we're not in control of all the packages. Can we please delete the current brave-origin-bin package, as agreed to by the current maintainer?
