Pakrohk [1] filed a deletion request for 9router-webui-plasma-git [2]: Dear AUR Maintainers,
I am writing to formally request the deletion of the package 9router- webui-plasma-git from the AUR. I am the original submitter of this package. After deeper investigation and practical testing, I have come to realize that the packaging approach I initially took was fundamentally flawed. The main reasons for this request are as follows: 1. Incorrect Build Method: The 9router project is officially distributed and maintained as an npm package. The correct and intended way to install it is by using the pre-built binary from the npm registry, not by cloning the Git repository and building from source. 2. Heavy Dependencies & Long Build Times: Building from source (-git) forces users to install heavy dependencies such as bun, next.js, tailwindcss, python, make, and others. This process is time- consuming, resource-intensive, and entirely unnecessary, as the project itself provides a ready-to-use binary. 3. Replacement Package Available: I have already created a properly structured replacement package named 9router-webui-bin. This new package follows the official method (using the npm tarball with bun), installs in seconds, and provides the same functionality without any of the drawbacks of the -git version. 4. User Confusion: Keeping the old package active may mislead users into choosing an inefficient installation method when a much better alternative already exists. For all the reasons above, I kindly request that the package 9router- webui-plasma-git be removed from the AUR. I take full responsibility for the initial mistake and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused to users or maintainers. Thank you for your time and understanding. Sincerely, pakrohk [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/Pakrohk/ [2] https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/9router-webui-plasma-git/
