rncoll7 [1] filed a deletion request for intel-ivsc-firmware [2]:

Upstream (github.com/intel/ivsc-firmware) was archived by Intel. The
in-tree mei-vsc driver (since 6.8, drivers/misc/mei/vsc-fw-loader.c)
loads intel/vsc/ivsc_fw.bin, intel/vsc/ivsc_pkg_<sensor>_0.bin and
intel/vsc/ivsc_skucfg_<sensor>_0_1.bin. Those files are shipped by
linux-firmware-intel; they were added to linux-firmware in commit
cfc997c6 (2023-12-18).

linux-firmware-intel contains all 29 binaries from the upstream repo:
22 are byte-identical, and the other 7 differ (linux-firmware's copies
were committed in 2023-12, the ones in the archived repo date from
2022).

This package installs them to
/usr/lib/firmware/vsc/soc_a1_prod/*_a1_prod.bin, a path read only by
the out-of-tree intel-ivsc-driver-dkms-git, which is itself obsolete
and has a deletion request.

Last modified 2022-08, flagged out-of-date since 2024-07-31.

The only remaining dependent is intel-ipu7-dkms-git, which lists it by
mistake (IPU7 doesn't use the IVSC; its firmware is in linux-firmware-
intel). A fix has been proposed in a comment on that package.
