MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for pybitmessage [2]: Broken Python2 application, reported as such since Nov 2022.
There seems to be no fix available, and also the former maintainer of pybitmessage-git was unable to resolve the problems. Upstream seems to be releasing experimental Python3 based AppImages, but not source code (at least I was not able to find such via a quick search). Better to delete this defunct package.
