Legacy build, VCS package in disguise. Tracks the '2_79_maintenance' branch which has been discontinued since 2019. [a] I think it is not needed. Current stable plugin on AUR supports Blender 3.0, and the just-released beta version supports the latest Blender 3.6 available in Arch repo. Blender 2.70 was released in 2014 and was supported until 2017 with release v2.79. It has severe build issues now, and old prebuilt binaries don't work with current system libraries.
