MarsSeed [1] filed a request to merge python-snakemake-git [2] into snakemake-git [3]:
@alienzj, the submitter who created the python-snakemake-git package later adopted, but not yet updated, the earlier-existing snakemake- git. This is a CLI application, no need for the 'python-' prefix. Also there's already a maintained stable package on AUR with the expected name 'snakemake'. While both VCS packages that are the subject of this request need changes to adapt to upstream, and I am not yet sure about maintainer's current and future availability, it's better to have one VCS PKGBUILD instead of two. :) Also the stable snakemake package can provide a good starting point when modernizing the VCS build.
