MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for checkmate [2]: Unused, abandoned scientific Python2 pkg from 2019.
There's a "checkmate2" fork/continuation that supports Python3, but former maintainer disowned this because of lack of need on their part, and apart from his recent comment mentioning it, last comments are from 2017.
