MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for notification-daemon-gtk2 [2]: Not useful to keep this defunct GNOME2 lib from 2010.
There is no GNOME2 or other Gtk2-based desktop environment available in Arch/AUR repos. And Gtk2 applications work just fine with [extra] repo's Gtk3-based notification-daemon. The package is frequently broken due to relying on unmaintained legacy dependencies like gstreamer0.10.
