MarsSeed [1] filed a request to merge arduino-mk [2] into arduino-mk-
git [3]:

The last stable tagged release is from 2017, but the git master branch
is 4 years and 140 commits newer.

The purpose of upstream repo is to provide example Makefiles and demo
code for Arduino programming.

I think the use case warrants acquiring the latest, most refined code
from the git repo.

Also, AUR/arduino-mk has long been abandoned, whereas the '-git'
package has an active maintainer who recently pushed a PKGBUILD fix
for the latter.
