A note for this glider, Are you hooked on gliding & want to invest long term? Do you have 150hrs or more, & want to step up slowly to a really comfortable level of flying XC, or even to national champ one day?
Ask your CFI for their thoughts on this type of glider, but I actually think it could be perfect for you (@150hrs<x-apple-data-detectors://0>, perhaps less)! Reasoning, when this particular Ventus is empty, it's an absolute pleasure to fly. So incredibly easy, beautifully co-ordinated, smooth & on rails like. So quiet in the cockpit, stunning. Once you have some time on type, perhaps just another 100hrs - put 100lts on it to fly it at 430kg. The glider turns itself into performance that is equal to an LS8/D2. Only this time, the water is really easy to manage, settles it right down & allows you to gain experience with a glider with water. Still very pleasant, and easy to fly, great handling. Then when you've done another 100hrs at 430kg, you'd then be easily ready to fill it full to MTOW 500kg. You're now flying the glider as it was designed to do, cross country & fast! With all the modifications this glider has, it performs like no other Ventus that flies in AUS. It climbs beautifully with the winglets, competition sealing of the flaps, aileron fences & wing root fillets. It really groooooves through the sky, when you get here, you'll be grinning like a...! So, rather than buy two to three gliders to get to this level, spend the little money at the start & avoid having to ever upgrade! If you would like a test flight, let me know. If your CFI or trusted friend wants a fly to be able to advise you more on the purchase & handling of this glider, let me know - they can have a flight too. I'll have it arranged. You won't be disappointed, I'm sad to be selling but I'm ready for my next investment - my history, bought an LS1, then Cirrus, then Ventus. Wish I owned the V straight off the batt!
