Bob,

I don't know where the 250HP each engine comes from.

I'll post this analysis again:

Jet engines aren't usually quoted as being of a certain horsepower.

It seems likely the device has 4 x 40 Kg(392N) THRUST engines (if it has a single engine out capability this would be about right. One not huge bloke, the device and some fuel). The only horsepower being developed in the hover is in the exhaust stream.

From www.amtjets.com the Titan engine has 40Kg thrust. Mass flow is quoted at 0.66 Kg/sec . Note that this is over 0.5 cubic meters of air a second.

To get 40 Kg thrust this equates to an exhaust velocity of 600 meters/sec. The POWER in the exhaust stream is then around 120 kilowatts or about 160HP.

4 engines = 640 HP. He's likely at 75% thrust in the hover though.

The power being delivered to Frankie's device in hover is ZERO. Power delivered = velocity x thrust.

Fuel consumption of the titan is quoted at just over 1 Kg/Minute. So for 4 at say 80% thrust in forward flight around 3.2 Kg/minute or 4 litres/minute.

He says he didn't exceed 55mph on the Guiness record flight. Say he averaged 60 kph. He flew just over 2.2 km so it would take 2 to 2.5 minutes. Say 10 litres of fuel. Easy.

Claimed 4 engines at 250hp each..... just not possible from jets of that size....

possibly 250 N thrust from each.

claims to be looking at 2 miles...... I don't believe it.... he couldn't carry enough fuel.

Some more detail on the hoverboard. It has an autostab system and can tolerate one engine out.
