I agree Alan, in fact we were discussing that very fact up at the club. We as a sport are probably not far off having to appoint some sort of permanent "comp" person to gather all the ducks and align them.
Although I was only there for a few days you could see the huge effort required just to run the comp was taking its toll on the Kingaroy workers, this left very little time to manage the publicity and information. I guess if we want people to watch and get interested then we really need to be more social media aware, given that we can't find enough people to help at comps I am not sure how we would achieve that. One suggestion would be that John styles get the funding to appoint a marketing employee that would be required to travel to comps and run Facebook, Twitter, scoring and tracker information. There is probably 50k in salary and 20k in travel just in that alone. I couldn't see the comp community paying for that and I am sure the non-comp community wouldn't support it.
