Hi Leigh,
It was really just a bit tongue in cheek re the ‘arms trading’ requirement.
Would I have to go to the Minister to sign off?
However the 2 protos had very small wheels to reduce profile drag and are not
good for outlandings or rough strips.
Yes, I am going to look for a ‘braked’ replacement wheel as a option but then
there is a lot of work enlarging the wheel well.
Production models had decent wheels.

Cheers

Chris

Hi Chris,

Time to change it to something else that is close in size, like a Tost wheel.
I'm sure other ES60 owners have done something similar.

I replaced the Spitfire/Wirraway tailwheel hub on my GB and saved a kg. and a
half in weight.

Cheers
Leigh

My proto Schneider ES 60 has a 4.95 x 3.5 tyre and only Dunlop still have it
in stock.
In their list it is a military tyre for the tail wheel of Hawker Hurricanes
only.
Since it is military The UK government require an ‘end user
undertaking/certificate’ before it can be sold to me.
There is a lot of work in getting one of those things signed off.
