Hi Philip (and the rest of the Aus-Soaring gang)

Thanks for the vote of thanks (blushing).

I'm just trying to make it a bit easier on everyone, and I realise that
Simon can only do so much for absolutely nix on behalf of gliding in OZ.
Providing this list and the hosting for the Aus-Soaring web pages (mustn't
forget to say thanks also to Beverly Matthews too !) has certainly been a
HUGE contribution to Gliding in this country.

While I think of it, Beverley: Can you add a link from the Aus-Soaring site
to the Mail-Archive one ? E-mail me directly if you want more details.

As far as offers of archived messages from this list way back in the past
goes, I'm afraid that (at the moment anyhow) I can't really do anything with
them. The Mail-Archive site is not run by me (I am just the "Net Geek" who
stumbled onto it and decided to add Aus-Soaring to the list of mailing lists
they archive). There is a process they show for importing messages into the
archives, but it involves Perl scripts and access to an Unix-based system
connected to the.Internet, plus the messages have to be in a specific format
(so all those MS-Outlook messages people have stashed away may not be a lot
of good as-is) and with basically intact headers (the key to good
archiving). While I have the pre-requisite Perl knowledge, I'm a Windows
user through my ISP. Maybe I'll try bringing home and connecting a Linux
box from work temporarily, but it won't be any time in the near future.

Cheers everyone - fly long and high

Jason
