Date-line - Gawler, Sunday the 18th 2001
25 degrees c and beautiful Cu's at 4 to 5 1000 feet held aloft by average 4knot thermals. An almost perfect day.
The Gawler X/C gliders were launched by 1pm and most headed off for moderate tasks. Paul Mason (Ventus) and Mick Bullock (Discus) visited Porters Lagoon and Balaklava airfield, whilst Clem Lunau (304) and I (Cirrus 75) flew a leisurely 160 k to Balaklava and home via Riverton. The day for Clem and I was capped off by a friendly dogfight just north of Gawler (CAR Separation rules followed to the letter). The Red Baron won this one.
This day reminded me exactly what I got into this sport for, ie fun A great day.
