I would appreciate any information about the minimum standards required to
launch a two seater (IS28 about 600kgs TOW) to at least 1000 feet. For
example:
1. The power of the car
2. Length of runway
3. Length of rope. Is it a ratio like 3 times the target launch height??
4. Type of rope, weak links as per normal?
Southern Cross Gliding Club has been approached by a film company about a
possible advertisement involving an auto launch off a sealed runway or
closed off highway (long,wide and straight!).
