Patrick   I have such a beastie that I use to supplement my paper log book.  It requires Excel 97 and is based on my 1970's style grey log book given to me by my dad for my first flight at age 6 way back in 1974.  It may be that some of the fields now in the new blue book are slightly different e.g. notation of P1 and P2 versus dual/instr and in command, and of course the meaning of "page" in a spreadsheet depends on the size of your printer !  Those early flights were deleted from the sample data so as not to confuse too many people !!!   I find that it's a great way to work out all my flight statistics in a few seconds by appropriate navigation around the cells   The URL of the server directory is   http://members.ozemail.com.au/~gliding/logbook/   Make sure you use your browser's "Save Target As ..." functionality (a right click over the Logbook_sample.xls file and then choose the Save Target As ... option)   DO NOT try to run it within the Internet Explorer browser because it will crash !  So much for Microsoft doing much integration testing ...   The row of entries for flight serial # 1 contain "Comment" fields (the little red triangle created via Insert -> Comment menu) which I've added to indicate what should be stored in each field (and what should be left alone).  Hopefully that's enough to get anyone started.   Apart from a small bug for the "Other" aircraft type, it's reasonably well bomb-proof.  It would require a bit of manual tweaking as more aircraft types are added (I've only really added our Club fleet plus a few others I've flown in before).  Most of it is done using Range names (see Insert -> Name -> Define menu)   Any comments, please feel free to ask away and I'll do my best.   As far as I'm concerned, using it is a case of all care and no responsibility on my part.  Consider it my free gift to the Australian gliding fraternity.   Regards   Jason Armistead Club Membership Secretary & Webmaster Southern Cross Gliding Club Camden, NSW, Australia http://www.southerncrossgliding.org/ ----- Original Message ----- From: Patrick Miller To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, September 18, 2001 10:42 PM Subject: [aus-soaring] Excel logbook Does anyone have a SIMPLE electronic logbook program written in Microsoft Excel suitable for gliding? The logbooks I've seen on the net are all designed for power flying and I don't have the Excel skills to adapt their myriad of columns to the more familiar GFA logbook style. I'm still at the early stages of adding every flight to a running total and my hours and minutes arithmetic is not terrific. The result is a lot of pencil and rubbing out in my logbook which is looking very tatty (and I'm only up to page three!)
