Thanks for that, Roger. That confirms what I had heard from some glider
refinishers.
The T35 vorgelat is slightly better than the older vorgelat. I guess the
factories have finally found a gelcoat whose life coincides approximately
with the length of the new model cycle.

More seriously the T35 still fails by cracking. The failure mode of a
gelcoat on a glider should be by going dull and chalky which can be
restored by sanding and polishing and overpainting without complete removal
after it gets too thin. Gelcoats that do this are well known in the
fiberglass industry. At least one good one is made in Australia. Don't
waste your time trying to get a German manufacturer to use it.
